My real interest is sharing this man's self-styled backstory for his pedal. Apparently it was the "goto" FX for his "friends'" "Uncle". Oh yeah, through the "70's & 80's" it was his favorite. Nevermind that it doesn't have a scratch, let alone fingerprints. Do a lot of clients bring in their functioning pedals to "have it checked out" & then tell you they need a wall wart jack installed? I personally don't care for the sound of the ones with that midriff rib going thru their sides. The grey one is the one I hung onto. It makes my lapsteel sound positively rude! :thumbsup

It is astonishing which BS people are writing, when the day is long:
Sovtek was the Russian sister company of Electro Harmonix up until about 1991.
Oh yeah, through the "70's & 80's" it was his favorite.
Sorry, but in the 70´s and 80´s it was impossible to run a private company in russia - so there couldn´t exist any "sister-company" in russia.

EH busted in 1984. Afterwards Mike Matthews made a big pause and married a russian wife. From there he got his russian contacts. After the "Perestroika":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perestroika
which occured - yes - in 1991, private companys were allowed in russia and Sovtek was "founded".

Sovtek was a "Mike-Matthews-One-Man-Show" who used (former exclusive) military-factories to have his stuff produced very cheap from the poor workers there.

Therefore "...sister company up until 1991...." is totally BS, because EH busted already in 1984 and Sovtek appeared first in 1991.

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

The businessman du jour hasn't responded to my similar queries yet. I addressed the issue of the Soviet's business mood during the years he's cited. I suggested looking at available BMPi data to help his timeline[keywords i.e. Ram'sHead, TriAngle Knob,etc.]. I hope he doesn't take it wrong and never learn what friggin' year pedal he had.
