Hi everyone

Im a looking for some help :( .
I am building a few SDD-3000 pre-amps from the the design found on http://www.sabrotone.com.
I have the PCB designed apart from the power supply which uses a 9volt power supply.
The oringinal SDD-3000 used a 15v power supply,so I am wounding is there a low cost 9v to 15v converter or circuit that I could use?
I found the following page https://obsoletetechnology.wordpress.co ... ct-pedals/ but i cant find the LT3467's and as im new to this Im not sure if its what I need.
The finished SDD PCB has to fit in a hammond 125 enclosure as I bought 60 enclosure from China for all my projects :D,so the power supply circuit cant be massive.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Also If anyone knows the SDD-3000 well could you let me know.

If you want to limit the output to 15V put a 15V zener between the 17V row and ground

You saved me from going bald.I take it that its tested.
Call me thick,But if I dont ask I wont learn.
How does it double the voltage?Is it like a transformer? do I half the current by doubling the voltage?

This is how Intersil describe it and they're much more clever than me! :mrgreen:

"The ICL7660S may be employed to achieve positive voltage doubling. In this application, the pump inverter switches of the ICL7660S are used to charge C1 to a voltage level of V+ -VF (where V+ is the supply voltage and VF is the forward voltage on C1 plus the supply voltage (V+) is applied through diode D2 to capacitor C2. The voltage thus created on C2 becomes (2V+) - (2VF) or twice the supply voltage minus the combined forward voltage drops of diodes D1 and D2."

7660 isn't enough... too low current.
L1054 the same
SDD3000 has a huge current demand (more than 100mA) so take a look to a Murata Converter from 5V to dula 15V ($20 approx...)

It's a great pedal !!

The SDD3000 may have a huge current demand but its pre-amp wouldn't.

One more question.
Can anyone tell me the input and output attenuator values as I cant make it out.
Here is the Korg service manual https://www.box.com/shared/2vqeduby80.
I know im asking a lot,but I need all the help I can on this.

What's so special about this simple circuit? Except from the fact that The Edge uses it?
It's a clean booster based on old and dead cheap opamps...
I would at least redraw the circuit for symmetrical power supply (and use the ICL7660S or MAX1044 as voltage inverter) and use higher quality opamps...

It is not just a clean booster,it adds a (for want of a better word) colour to the tone.
I would upload a JPEG of my pcb so people could take a look, but I dont have a clue how to upload a picture.

When you're writing a comment, see below "Upload attachment"
just look for a picture in your computer and then click "add the file"

What's the advantage of using 2 OA instead a quad? :scratch:
Keep power supply regulation far from the input?
