Here's my verified stripboard layout:

IMO this is really great distortion. Severely underrated.

BIG + 1!

Hats off to you guys that can trace and build these things on stripboard! :applause:

I see you swapped the 100k gain pot for the 20k volume. I did the same for mine after reading a post from Analogguru. Theres still more than enough gain on tap,and lots of volume if you decide to use it for lower gain applications. Nice looking layout by the way!

FYI,[just passing on something I read here] the footswitch 'bounce' capacitor is the middle ceramic .001 cap by the footswitch. Upping that to .01 fixed my TM5 and TL5 footswitches. :)

Heres the post about swaping the vol/tone pots- http://ww.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic. ... 2&start=40

Okay, I need to learn about this. I've got the TS5 and CP5 and the switches are flakey on both, which I assumed was just the switch. Am I to understand that there's a ready circuit fix I can do instead?

Yeah, theres a .001 cap right next to the footswitch, bump that up to .01 and it should be good to go!
However...my Soundtank tremolo only had one ceramic cap there so it was easy to locate. The TM-5 has three in a row there. So it was hit or miss for me. The first one I tried silenced the pedal. The second one was correct though. Not exactly the 'scientific' approach but I got it working like a charm. Floks replace the footswitches before trying this, and the switches are usually ok.

Thanks for the tip! I read up a bit on switch de-bouncing after your earlier post before the forum went down. I think the caps may be enough to keep things smooth in my Sound Tanks, and I think this might carry over to the switching in my MXR Omni rack & pedal setup, which seems to show lots of symptoms of switch bounce. Incredibly handy thing to learn about.
