I used the silicon BC558B silicon transistors they sounded surprisingly good compared with germanium and my actual z vex fuzz factory, they didnt break up quite as much but to be honest i found this to be an advantage, dialing in sound was much easier and they still gave a good oscilation sound which is what alot of people look for, my mate who runs the local guitar shop loved it and preffered it to the original tone.

looks like i might go for them considering Mouser are trying to charge me €38 for shipping.

Ouchhh, no bitsbox are great aslong as you have a paypal account, much better prices and range of stuff for building compared to rapid n such with a fair postage ( i've ordered enough stuff to require £5 of postage and they still only charge £1.50 postage even at there low cost )
Yea i stand by them, those transistors sound really good in it, and being silicon and new theres alot more chance of getting a good matched pair working set, as in my earlier posts i have 7 ( out of 10 ) working AC128's and although i havent got round to testing them to see if some are unleaky enough to work the ones i tried together didnt work at all and at a pound each was a tad annoying... even though i got given them lol.

so just to doublecheck, those BC558B are instead of AC128's? cos i have tonnes of 2N3904's which are the other ones.
EDIT:
nooooooooo!!! That place has everything EXCEPT 5k pots! sham! but still, they're mentally cheap. I'm definitely using them. Thanks for the link!

Yea the BC558's are to replace the AC128 cause there PNP aswell.

cool. cheers scruffie. I just put in an order now.
what kind of delivery times do they do? i know you're in england, but usually, there's only a day or two difference between shipping to UK and Ireland.

Awesome, thats one crazy pedal. I feel sorry for the guy that has to sort out all the seperate resistors and stuff for pedal builds

I just used the 4.7k ones on there with no issues, a bit of discretion is ok here and there but good you can get them locally and dont have to do a seperate order, awesome anyway hope the build goes smooth.

OK guys, some help here. I wanted to add a 3 band EQ to my Fuzz Factory, and I did that before to my friends version, but my own I can't get it to work.
I thought I added a 3 band EQ to the 100n between the booster en fuzz stage (so instead of the 100n I added a Marshall tone stack). Now, I get no signal at all at the output, rebuild it 4 times now and still the same issues.
I can't look into the one of my friend as he is on tour right now......... what could I've done wrong? I
I checked it and with the 100n in place I get a normal FF. I'm going nuts (and now know I should note all things I do to my stuff).........

Did you check up the tone stack alone? May be some parts in it are not working! For example I do always check every resistor and cap before placing it on the PCB!Yes, It takes a bit of time but much more less than to debug the whole circuit when it is assembled! Then if something does not work properly I check up the connections!

Is the fuzz factory an actual Zvex Model or have you cloned a Zvex fuzz factory out of interest ? just wondering if perhaps the design might have changed since last time slightly, proving some issues ? Pictures are always useful if you can snap a few.

Are the pot lugs in this vero 3,2,1 or 1,2,3? - When looking at the layout.
