Here is the schematic for the Octophant, a pedal we threw together over at Harmony-Central's FX forum. It is similar to a fuzzrite but with 2n7000's. The octave up is from the push-me-pull-you. The "boost" circuit is a simple gain stage with an AC187. It isn't the most groundbreaking thing in the world, but it sounds cool and we had a ton of fun tweaking the design. There are a few variants that we mixed in with the production.
Version 1: Stock
Version 2: "Spaghetti Western" uses 4401's instead of the 2n7000's
Version 3: "Red Scare" uses a Soviet MP38A in the boost circuit. My favorite version.

We also tinkered with the input caps quite a bit, and it might be cool to put a few on a rotary switch.
And an unverified vero layout.
