hi community,

i´m just repairing an boss rv-5 that was fried and found the culprit, it is a choke with 4 pins right after the power input, on the pcb it is marked "L1". when the choke is removed and bypassed with 2 wires, the effect works perfectly.
now i wonder what the value of this choke is.
does anybody have a schematic of the rv-5, or other boss digital effects for that matter (maybe they all have a similar power input scheme ?) or know what the value of this part could be ?

cheers,
lohstah

use wires and accept that the thing will not be "up to RCC standards" anymore.

Who cares anyway if he's up to RCC standards when he's on stage ;)
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

or - carefully unwind and detail the choke - buy some similar guage magnet wire or enamel coated copper wire and rewind it

yeah, i actually thought about doing that, there´s not many windings on that thing, should not be that hard.
or i really just leave the jumpers in there and fugget about rcc standards :horsey: .

cheers,

Since the schematic has appeared in the workbench section here's a dedicated thread:
