Funny.... a complete different pcb-layout than those two I have seen before...

Anyhow, here is the only valid schematic for the two units I´ve seen before - the factory schematic is incorrect.

has anyone here played one of these? if so how do they sound? searching for demos on the net have come up short

im contemplating putting one together but im having second thoughts...

is it going to sound grindy like satisfaction? or grindy like poop.

could i substitute easier to get a hold of transistors such as 2n3904's for the trannies?

ah, just use any old Ge, and adjust the bias to taste. you don't need those particular transistors.

I worked on one years ago.
I drew out a schematic, and with help from the DIY stompbox forum guys I figured out I had it backwards...as in it plugs into the amp, not the guitar.
Sounded like a typical splatty fuzz, nothing great, but a nice different fuzz.

I updated the first post, with pictures, some basic gutshots, all from Reverb.
Fixed the dead schematic link.

I seems to have a lot in common with the Maestro Fuzztone, but then again the plugin idea seems to be inspired by Vox? Or not...

This is what was floating on the internet as factory schematic. The additional text was added on the computer, but the schematic itself seems to have come from a scanned print.

The only difference I can see between both schematics are the resistors on B2 and B3 to +1.5V rail who are inverted...

Here I found a content listing of the Sunn catalogs, though not the catalog scans themselves. The Sunn Buzz is not in the 1966 catalog, but it is listed in the 1967 one. I would really like to find the catalog itself - it's the objective evidence that this pedal was released in 1967, or late 1966.
