The imaginary beer is going down nicely.

I'm glad you like the design of the stand, and hope you have fun building and using one. :thumbsup
Now watch as variations of your brilliant design pop up on boutique amp websites and Asian online megastores for the next 3 years or so! You can call me cynical....
that's a really good point.. is this the sorta thing that might be copyrightable?

would pay to do so if it is.

Would you buy a Chinese version of the stand ? The ends would probably drop off and your precious amp would get smashed. No thanks.

Maybe the Japanese will make miniature stands - out of plastic - suitable for the little plastic Orange, Fender, Marshall, etc amps !

On a serious note, I think the market for amp stands (or cradles, as I've seen them called elsewhere) is pretty limited. It's not as if every home should have one.

The virtual beer [smilie=rlp_smilie_242.gif] - and the chance to give something back to the forum that has taught me so much - is reward enough. [OK, fingers down throats everyone [smilie=lipsrsealed.gif] ]

Yeah, I guess you're right. Seems like there's been an explosion of "boutique" amps and pedals on the market these last few years, but most folks still buy them rather than build them.

Here, take this virtual case of beer from me. I'll have a couple of beers in your honour as well. Cheers. :D

Late to the party as usual, but thank you! I've been meaning to cobble an amp cradle for the last 6 months, and all my searching came up with some good stuff, but more labor intensive than my lazy bones could rouse themselves to build. This is sheer genius with a high simplicity factor. I love it when clever people share a gem like this. I'm fresh out of virtual beer, but have a virtual roll of unobtanium solder with the fairy dust flux coming your way.

Glad you like it kkregsg, and I hope you have fun building one.
Thanks for the unobtanium solder and fairy dust flux - I need them for my next project :D
