Got a cheap Belcat Distortion pedal.
I know the Church of Distortion is a very Broad one and this pedal is on the crunchy brittle treble end. So after finishing my Germanium FuzzFace the Belcat was just to Crackly for me.
It has to Red Diodes handling the clipping so first I tried to OA90 Germanium diodes and that was just to smoothy with huge drop in volume. Maybe 4 or 6 might sound better but I only had two at hand. Then I tried 2x1n4148 very ordinary with a little more volume. 3x1n4148 sound good to me smoother with a lot of ProCo Rat character and a nice volume level. I did try 4x1N4148 but it was so close to the Red Leds I went back to the two on one side and one on the other.
If anyone has any other idea's please let me know.
