Etching with Natrium persulphate - safe disposal?

Hi guys,

I'm trying my hand at etching this week for the first time ever, but am a little worried about how to dispose of the Natrium persulphate once I've done.

Is it ridiculous to think I could flush it down the toilet? Is there anything I can add to it to solidify the solution so I can just throw it away?

Alright mate, from what I can remember, you can neutralise the acidity with baking powder.

Yeah i'd heard that, but i figured that unless i check, with my luck it'd probably cause some massive chemical reaction that'll burn the house down.

Add the baking soda sloooowly! If you just dump it in it may fizz all over the place
