nobody reacted upon this, but i'm interested in this pedal...
rust driver = marshall on 10...
sole pressure = 5E3 on 10...

can it be that the sole pressure is a rust driver with a gain control and more bass from a larger value input cap?

both have the warm/normal/bright switch also...

any thoughts?

Are there any new thoughts on the sole pressure? I've been looking all over and I can't find any info. Does anyone have one that could be used to reverse?

Is this pedal even worth the effort?

The RD is a very good emulation of a '69 50W Plexi lead.
The SP emulates the sound a 50W tweed amp, fatter and smoother sounding than the RB and lots more bass.

The SP sounds similar to the Snarling Dogs Tweed emulation (based on a CMOS hex-inverter chip).

Well I finaly got the chance to look inside a Sole Pressure and I have to say it's nothing special. There was a .1uf input cap into one half of a TL072, the goop was very soft and popped righ off. The other half was unused. The drive control was setup like a microamp or dist.+. The "Bright", "Normal" and "Warm" switch is a .001, .0022 or no cap to ground just before the output. The cruch comes from two red leds to ground.

Even with a tele and a deluxe reverb (read BRIGHT) the SP was way too bassy. The Bright setting was usable but the other two voicing options are unusable. The red leds made for a nice crunch but overall the pedal just isn't voiced very well. Its kind of a let down, I've been thinking about this pedal for a while now.

If of any interest:

HAO Sole Pressure
As usual only IC gooped
Should be LF353

I like the LED Clippers (and the sound on any non-fender amp with a single coil guitar)
Only usable switch position is BRIGHT
Will dismantle tonight and trace, but no surprises I think.

Trackside will follow

First thing I remark is the box(a must for me).
I love the rounder look of this box. Its like all american made pedals (Cusack, Hermida etc), e.g. the non Hammond B boxes.
They are lighter than hammond and finish is much better. I had Hammond and Eddystone where joints of box and bottom were awfully disintegrated. Like B-Ware.
Think Smallbear sells this nice enclosures for less money than Hammond/Eddystone.

I'm looking forward to the pics. I had one of these and let it go before I really spent some time with it.

From some posts and what we can see from the guts, the schematics could be like this
sp draft.jpg
The supply filter seems a 100uF cap.
I suppose the VR is half supply from classic 2 resistors and a filter cap (values?).
Where are placed the 22K and 100K resistors we can see in photos?

Please try to comment or complete it (errors, values, missing components, ...)

HAO circuits are only variations of classic circuits, nothing really new and IMHO a dist+ or OD250 is the base for the SP.
(The RB is a dist+ variation w/o clipping diodes).

Comparing the boards, the SP seems to be nearly the same thing as the RB, except the diodes and the shunt cap, maybe some different part values.

Isn't there some MAX1044 in this ???

The PCB glued and gooped to the footswitch makes me think of a voltage doubling circuit.
Patafix... so sticky
