How to Etch Circuit Boards?

I've been wanting to build some Vox V846 Wah-Wah clones again.
Unfortunately, my source on eBay hasn't been selling his hand-crafted V846 circuit boards for quite some time.
Basically, to cut down on waiting time and costs, I want to etch my own V846 circuit boards.
I'm totally new to this and I'm not sure exactly where to start.
I see Radioshack sells copper clads and etching solution.
Any help or suggestions on how to etch a circuit board, save on costs, and create good results?

For a one off pcb? go buy it as it will turn out much much cheaper and about 30 years less painful.

Hi Stratman,
Do a google search about "toner transfer pcb method", and you'll se how can your board be done simply ironing a xerox copy faced to the copper foil.
Cheers,
Jose

Have just recently been experimenting with this. Lots of tutorial u-tube videos available. I found glossy magazine paper the best for transfering your image and a toothbrush helps clean away all the small bits of paper left prior to etching. Found all supplies on ebay. You will need access to a toner printer. Permanent marker pens make good touch up pens.

Where abouts are you? If you're in the UK and have the artwork for the circuit board, send me a PM as I've got a full etching set up
