Hey all, just thought i'd share some pics of my most recent build, a Hiwatt DR504 clone using Magnetic Component iron.  I used the stock early 70s schematic and the only changes i made were the addition of a bias adjustment pot, and a 32uF filter cap on the final power node (instead of 16uF.  made that change for convenience of being able to use a 32/32 can)

Preamp board to wide. Other than that kickass. Where did you get chassis and the faceplate?

Yeah I was using a stock board out of convenience. Fitting it in there was kinda tight. In the future I would use a much more narrow board for this and other projects. Chassis I got blank from Watts Tube Audio and drilled out myself. Its a bit smaller than the on that Huss specs out on his site (445 x 203mm). Faceplate I had made at amplates.com

I found a really interesting website that sells tagstrips, valve sockets and etc, going to be ordering about $50.00 Au of stuff from them soon so I can do some re-building work on my SLO Clone 50 Amp Head..... :thumbsup

Yeah I try to get as much as I can from tubesandmore.com because I get manufacturer pricing through their sister site CEDist. I used a preloaded turret board because it saves me some headache and it fit what I needed. I wish theyd make it narrower like that. Maybe I can ask them about that....

Thank you! I'm a bit of a lead dress maniac as you can see.

Very well done and a credit too you. :thumbsup
Just one thing niggles me to ask (and I maybe reading the picture wrong but) it does look like you have Primary wires wrapped with Secondary wires.
If this is the case it is not wise practice from a safety point as a melt down can join mains to secondary.
Phil.

You're right. The Standby switch wires are wrapped with the primary switch wires. But for that purpose i use a double insulation jacket and 900°Celsius rated wires. So i'm totally safe. Even the original Harry Joyce's layout was wired like that.
