I know that most of the transistor types used in them eventually did come as TO-92, but I didn't think the Japanese manufacturers started using the JEDEC packages until well after this was made. In fact it has been hard to find out just when the TO-92 was introduced - Internet Man says late '50s or late '70s or even 68BC (if you look at the infowars forum, maybe).

From what I can tell the transistors are 2SC536 (at least the one I can see clearly), which would be legit for this pedal. It was known to use a variety of different transistors (2SC828, 2SC537/536 etc.). I've seen the 2SC536 in that package in some 80's machines I've ripped apart. It's possible that this is a later/final version of the Superfuzz. Not certain though. The pot also looks like it's dated to 1975.
