I need some advise from you expert in the triode world ....

The chronology:
A couple of years ago it was broken, it had burned fuses and 4 resistors (from 3 and 1 470ohm 220ohm).
Resistors and fuses was replaced and after about a year of inactivity, the amp was turned on;
There was strange noise, like frying type and then a nice smoke and turned off it.
The error was put fuses 250mah instead of from its 150mah
Replaced again same resistances as the first time.
And once it was powered the EL84 was sparking.
Replaced also the EL84 with a JJ the amp does not sound good
..it emits "farts" :slap:

According to you what would it be ?

I think that the first and second filter condensers at the power supply may gone bad. That can be the original cause for fuse blowing and burned resistors.

Try to check with a new electrolytic condenser in these two positions, and also check if the couple of rectifier diodes connected in series with each 220 ohm resistor at each end of the power transformer secondary aren`t damaged also.

Good luck,
Jose

You may have fried the OT when the old Valve died.
From my understanding SE Amps are more prone to OT failures when things go wrong.
from the overheated parts described the whole psu is overheating due to too much current drain.

You replaced the broken power tube with a new one and unlikely that is bad so the only thing left is an OT with shorted turns causing a terrible sonic result. :blackeye
Hope it helps,, Phil.

Thanks Phatt, vary helpfull info !! :thumbsup
I'll start replacing by passive components first... cap and res.

After that I'll check out the OT whether occurring ...hopefully not :slap: , I wish
