Not exactly what you asked for, but I would highly recommend the "Heavy Guitar Bible" by Richard Daniels. It's been around a long time and it's what I used to learn to play guitar over 30 years ago. Not sure if it's still in print, but if not, used copies should be readily available.

Neil Young plays one note for three minutes. Start there. Add some higher notes and some lower notes. Before you know it you played a guitar solo.

Learn some scales and modes. Then just mess around with those.

Try learning some licks from some of your favourite guitarists, and then combine them creatively..... :thumbsup

Also, I've read somewhere that it's not what you play in a solo, it's also what you don't play too, that is, break your solo up into phrases so it's like a conversation with brief rests, and also sometimes less is more.... :thumbsup

Check out lots of guitarist's styles, Eric Johnson is a good example, you can find lots of guitar tutorial videos on youtube..... :thumbsup

Hate to give away my secret weapon but here it goes....

You got your song, create a melody, simple at first then add some scale licks in between and an arpeggio run to go with it ,if u got some flash and the song requires it add it too if the song is laid back don't .
