Here ya go folks. The latest, greatest, fandango hen's tooth. Just when you all thought that the Ludwig was some sort of manned mission to Effect Mars, this sucker will take it to a neighbouring universe. My Mutron Flanger trace just took a temporary back seat. The Guild Tri-Oct. No nitty-gritty details yet, but Mark believes that it's some sort of very early guitar synth missing link. Sort of like Neanderthal man... or your uncle Lou, who no one ever invites over for Christmas dinner, but shows anyway.

Here are the preliminary pictures to whet your appetite. WARNING: MATURE TRANSISTOR CONTENT, AND EXPLICT CAPACITORS. THIS PROGRAM MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR ALL BUILDERS. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!

Yes, it's in working condition, but I'm busy tracing a Mutron Flanger for a cloning project. Video will be a while in coming, but will come eventually.

I've had time to put down the Mutron, and have finally delved into the belly of the beast. These are my PRILIMINARY schematics of the Trioct. I broke it down into sections, since there's just too much for me to handle in one drawing. I would have loved to throw this down as one drawing, but I'm not that talented. Besides, the "String Amplification" section is simply copy/paste, six times.
I'm not sure if I've named each section correctly, and my notes on the transistors can surely be ameliorated, so take them with a pinch of salt. All comments, recommendations, suggestions, observations, etc. are welcome.

Like I said, it's the first draft, I've yet to sit down and retrace, but I figure it'll give you guys some fat to chew. :icon_wink:

EDIT: I just thought about it, I should really do a video of this puppy in action (forehead slap!). I'll see if I can jig up the hex pup on one of my axes, and do a demo. Sorry guys.

Sorry, first picture got changed, so the link got broken. Here is the power supply section;

What is it? It a bit like a primitive missing link of the guitar synth world. One of the first examples of a hex pickup, which feeds six individual circuits, one for each string. You can then mix a lower octave, normal, and upper octave output to whatever degree you want. In a nutshell.

This is one of only two examples that I have ever laid my eyes on. One in picture, and this one in the flesh. This one has been loaned to me for dissection. I would venture to say that this is the "Hen's Tooth of all Hen's Teeth". :mrgreen:

It's the power section. It's the one I reposted, there's nothing missing. It's because I had to make corrections, and the link got broken.

Oh, woops. Guess I should read more carefully. Thanks!
