Have a look at this overview page at GGG, you will need a different diagram depending on the fact you use LED and DC jack or not.

The easiest way is to use a stereo input socket - three connections: Tip, Ring, and Sleeve.
Tip is for signal input
Sleeve is for ground connection
Attach the black wire from your battery clip to the Ring connection
All done  :applause:

Hi all!

Hey i went to try out some of my friend's boutique pedals and I noticed that when my input/output is disconnected, the power/battery is cutted off and the LED would not light up. If i plug in a DC(off) my battery is cutted off and the LED would not light if i press the switch. Anybody has any ideal what i'm talking about? and knows how to do that? I want to do that to save battery power in my DIY pedals.
Some help from the pros around here??

Thanks man!

hi there just finished building an A/B box to this layout, but just realised that if i used battery the leds are always on, i know there is a way to use a stereo jack to break the battery circuit when no jack is inserted but am a little unsure how to do this. If someone here could help that would be guuuureat! :)

Hi.
Change the input jack to stereo (TRS - tip, ring, sleeve) and connect battery ground (- negative) to middle one it's the ring, so when you plug cable jack it will connect negative battery supply to ground (ring and sleeve connected) and that's it!

Just like any other pedal, when you unplug the input cable it will brake the circuit and consume the battery life!

Cheers :thumbsup
