EP booster mod from japanese site, what is it??

Wondering what this mod is for.
About to build an ep as a unity only buffer, and another as an actual boost with master vol.

I may have answered my own question here....
It looks like it may be a unity gain mod..... if so then how about this:
Put the gain pot on a 3pdt footswitch, replace the last 47k resistor with a 100k resistor
and a 100k pot in parallel, run the wiper of the pot to the 3pdt and switch the boost pot and the
new output pot at the same time? Now it's a buffer and a boost.
This is assuming you always want it on and or want to move the bypass to a regular toggle.
Why didn't xotic think of this? Will there be strange noises switching the gain pot in on the fly?
