I picked up a K150 pic programmer. Slowly learning..lmao!! :slap:

What's a good IDE for PIC programming? There seems to be a lot.

I use IDE8.92 a lot for existing projects or new projects based on older developments.
When starting off fresh, go the MPLAB X-IDE road

I bought one of those K150 things a while ago, now it could have been broken but it just never worked with the crappy software that it came with but it ended up chucked in the bin. I then went and bought a real pickit2 programmer which is great.

Software... I use the IDE 8.92 from microchip which is great, there is an IDE X but it has lots of complaints that it is just not as good as 8.92.

Innawesting. I'd never setup a new project in IDE because, IMO, X is so frigginly more advanced.

What about the mikroC ide? That any good?

I'll check out MPlab.

I was able to get the K150 to program a pic16f....and...I'm on Windows 10 Tech build 9860. But you have to choose the right driver.
