definitely use a 250k for gain
i recommend to mod it and get a sweep pot in place of switch..

Looks interesting, thanks: Have you got a scheme you could post? I got lost trying to mentally trace the vero layout, but got lost at the mosley Q2. Schematics make it much easier to appraise what a circuit might sound like, and also makes it far easier for casually interested forum members to quickly breadboard your circuit to hear it.

as you may have already read, i used 2n5458, so mine has about 66% of the real gain but my board works perfect.hope to put in some j201 soon...hard to find in my town...!!!

Ha! Never saw that nabble site before... A lot of stuff on there, even the Tight Metal. Glad to see that you made a vero, people email me asking for vero layouts all the time and I just can't seem to make those! Probably my ADHD
