I'm guessing a modified Brass Master?

I have. The sample I heard had the most fucked up sound. I should describe it as a "stuttering" since I can't recall any useful effects showcasing this attribute.
The guitarist had plenty of the jazz/funk sorta 12 bar skills, but I half expected him to to stop playing and yell at the engineer!

I could also be of the uninformed variety in terms of "tones in demand" wit da yutes of today.

Seems pretty inspiring.

Anyone guess how to achieve that horn atack effect heard on Horn Synth section of the video?

Ive talked to paul, very cool dude. to me it sounds like a really gated fuzz tuned into a specific frequency to achieve that farty horn synth sound.

I´ve tried a similar aproach witha my Fuzz Factory, but not with the same results...

Second...I'd be greatly interested in hearing about how you came about the design of this fuzz...not necessarily schematics or anything, just the thought process behind it, the development, etc, etc...

Just like You I still build all my fuzz point to point, and I'm super anal about everything being mechanically perfect.
I love Fuzz Faces and Tone benders and have no interest in building anything I can't personally use.

I'm no genius like Bajaman, Modman, Analogguru or so many others I read and learn from here. I'm just obssesed with tweaking things, modding existing things, and lie awake at night thinking and writing down ideas in the dark half asleep. (like so many of you here I'm sure)

As far as development of the Bone sound, I was just dickin' around with a fuzz. I have a huge bone yard of dead pedals and parts and I used a piece of a dead Boss DD-3 and found a hint of that sound. I spent two months chasing it with prototypes and thats it.

I would prefer not to get into specifics as this is my baby. I'm very flattered to be discussed here and I know people will do as they will with my pedals. That's OK. I have a love and respect for all of You. -p

Thats very cool...and a good attitude to have. The way I look at things is that you cant stop somebody from reversing and posting a schematic if they choose to...so accept it at the very least, embrace it if you can.

People dig what you're doing...originality is rewarded by "interest"...

DD3...not your typical fuzzy starting point...though circuit bending can lead to some cool stuff.

My tries about those matters:

Great sounds in the video! Could you provide any informations on the mods?!

I've foolowed a very simple and ingenuous idea from a Bosstone topic here in this forum, so I must thank that person, I think, for the trumpetism: using a 100k pot for a "dying batteries" kind of effect.

The other mod is to use higher cap values for the in and out, also use a cap to ground at the output to roll off the excessive treble, but it's up to each one taste or lack of...

I used a Ge 1N60 and a 1N4001 at the clipping section.

I recommend using hfe's as low as 120 for the NPN and PNP trannies.

I build another Bosstone one, almost plain, just used the same diodes combo, but used a 2N5089 piggybacked for the NPN side. It sounds very overdrivenish! Crunchy sound...
