LONELY FUZZ: SINGLE TRANNY FUZZ, OF COURSE

Lifted from the first mosrite stage; it fuzzes at low gain, of course, but it's unimstakably a fuzzy fuzz.
And it cleans very well with the guitar volume.
All the transistors I tried worked, but low gain ones were a little bit better to my ears.
The 10 K input resistor is just an optional that helps the circuit to work better with other pedals and effects.
