here in chicago, i'm a live sound engineer, and these are always some of the best sounding big rock amps i hear. i've never heard someone screw up the sound of one, which can't be said for alot of other big name/high gain amps. i like the simplicity of them and the rotary switches. you think the inductor is for the presence circuit?

If it's like the Orange Graphic MKII (and I would definitely think so regarding the components, layout and placement of the parts) then the inductor is at the cathode of the third triode stage. Look here.
