Build this to wet your pants
First, the power supply is kinda ambitious and can be simplified.(i don't know why i did this :slap: )
Presence cap your choice ....
Boost and structure best foot switchable.
Use a good set of J201 ( DO NOT USE CRAPPY MPF102 :x )
Yes its verified :horsey:

Thanks to Mr. Bogner for the inspiration and Doug H. --> you tha man :applause:

Please do not ask for sound clips ...just do it !!!

I like the power supply decoupling, but would use 10uf instead of 100uf
Cheers

Ok noted ...thanks Baja.
Now after building this, i see why Bogner amps are coveted by many :D

No layout yet ...too busy with other projects :x
update=> Presence pot can be increased to 50k.

Hi, there,
My very first post here. Been lurking around and learning all the great stuff.
Very interested in this project so I did a very rough layout, intended for perfboard.
Also my first try using ExpressPCB. Please help double check.
Would like to hear some clips if anyone already built one. Thanks.

Sorry guys, just found some errors in the previous layout.
I got the J201 pinout wrong.
Here's an updated version.
It's not verified yet so please double check.

Right. The best option is to use a non carbon wirewound 100 ohms between A and B,
so there will be no noise when the slider of R4 is turned up all the way to the last .1% of Rd
for Q1.

Have you tested this layout yet?

Not yet
Still waiting for a few parts.
Also this is my first layout so I kinda hope to hear some comments from folks here.
As I learned from the Dr. Boogey discussion on diystompboxes that layout and grounding issue may cause noise or oscillation.

right the layout is key... and all of those circuits with layouts that popped up with the Dr.B are pretty noisy and hard to tame.

Looking at the 2nd layout you posted you've got R3 & R2 connected to ground going into Q1

Hi ya fellas... :D
my build is freaky quiet ...really 8)
right the layout is key...
totally agree and the pcb layout posted by sinisa should work fine...just that error audioguy pointed out.
Nice one sinisa...thanks!
Gets some good J201's too.

Some updates:
1)use 100k trimpots for Jfet bias adjustments
2)If bass presence is a bit too much tweak tone stack resistor to a larger value e.g 56K, 100K ....
You can reduce Bass pot to 500k as I Meg is wee bit too much...imo.
3)A 27k ~ 47k resistor on the Gain Pot to ground to keep it going even if Gain pot gets turned off... sorry my mistake here. :slap:
I use 1M for gain.
4)Use 35v to 50v spec electro's and try this circuit on 18v :thumbsup
5)Use a 50k for presence pot with a 10K after presence cap to ground. U do not need a large value uF for this ....use 0.01uf and less to taste.
6) U can subsitute the expansive silver mica's used for 470pf with other types..i use those box type.

Cheers
Ravi C.

Could you maybe post the schem a bit larger if possible, its really hard to read ;)
Somebody out there who made a layout with overlay to etch the board?

This project looks really interesting, has anybody been able to come up with a good PCB layout I could etch and give it a shot?

.... not really a good one due close proximity of video cam to the speaker cab.

I finished mine this morning... sounds killer, but I've got some issues and I dont know if the actual amp works this way too-
The treble control almost acts like a big muff tone control. The treble gets really hot, then as you cut it it acts like a bass boost and the overall level gets higher.
The presence knob is almost like a second volume control with out much of an over tone sweep. Like on the Dr. Boogey it acts as a tone sweep after the EQ. This presence control doesnt sweep the tone much, and adds a lot of volume as you open it up.

I like the structure and boost switches, they are very cool.

Overall its a good pedal... I've never played the amp, so I dont know how it compares.
