Hey all,

First post. Was hoping to get some guidance on the Danelectro Cool Cat Vibe. I rehoused the pedal and did all the usual mods (volume pot, fix the delay, tweak the bias pot), as well as work on the LDR's a bit. Specifically, shrouding two of the LDR's with small cut-offs of shrink-wrap tubing to block stray sideways light to tweak the phase shape a bit (I ran it against the Chicken Salad to try and match the phase shapes as best I could, and I think it's pretty close now). I'm still a bit confused on the wet/dry mix. As you know the Cool Cat has a mix pot rather than Chorus/Vibrato toggle switch. I've read the "ideal" Univibe chorus mix is 50/50 wet dry. So, stands to reason on a 50K linear pot this would be around 25k. With the multimeter a 25k reading yields a pretty weak phase, whereas somewhere around 17-13k gets a more classic univibe phase tone. Anything I'm missing here? Would the mix be more controllable with a 100k linear pot?

Thanks!

Maybe your wet and dry outputs aren't the same level, which makes the phasing more or less sensible?
- Are you a mod or a rocker?
- Uh, no, I'm a mocker.

Could be. I tried the 100k pot and it did nothing but make the phase depth even shallower across the pot travel. I might try putting 81k resistors in-line with lugs one and three of the 50k pot as some people have done to balance the mix.
