hi guys,

i checked out one of the new electro hysterix XO deluxe memory man thingies yesterday, it has 4xmn3008 in there (reminds me a little bit of kaputepalla´s expansion board idea, they are actually on an expansion board).

i´ll try to take some pics later today if anybody´s interested.

cheers,
lohstah

My Finnish girlfriend used to say "Makara's"; it was her favorite word :D

Completely nothing to do with the thread, still I added :D

Panasonic chips?! How? Did they start making them again? I'm confused, I thought those were gone forever.

As I understand, Mike Matthews bought a lifetime supply of them. Or at least that's "the word on the street".

I'm more interested in the idea of swapping those 4 MN3008's for 4 MN3005's. Theoretically possible?

But, would it change the modulation ("Chorus/Vibrato") as well? And would it change the modulation for the better or for the worse?

the modulation is generated by an idipendet LFO based on a 4558 opamp. i don't think changing the delay chip would change something there

What about 2n MN3008 substituting n MN3005!?! It is because MN3008 is 2048 stages BBD while MN3005 is 4096 stages! So, you need twice number of MN3008 in order to get the same delay if you use the same sampling rate.
