Just a custom job. I'd like to see more people playing them, they really are amazing pedals.

I suppose by “mine” you mean you built it...(?)

Do you have the schematics?

No bro, not showing off. I'm new in the pedal building world. I'm just very impressed with Lyle's work. It's ok to have people who drive us to do what we do right? I'm curious if anyone besides him had ever built something like this, what's the big deal Dirk? The Triad in my opinion has to e the greatest build in the last few years, we're entitled to our opinion. :horsey:

Don't take it personaly TheBlackCrayon, but there are some rules that we all follow. Some are written some unfortunately aren't.

One of the written rules says: "don't talk about what you are not prepared to share, or will not share right now, or might share next week."

You have been asked more than once what is the origin of your pedal:

by JimiB on 22 Jul 2008, 16:53: "did you build that one?"
by Silent Fly on 22 Jul 2008, 17:56: "I am not sure I understand TheBlackCrayon... you rev.eng. one and built a clone?"
by Dirk_Hendrik on 22 Jul 2008, 17:57: "Looks good, Schematic?"
by Silent Fly on 23 Jul 2008, 10:39: "I suppose by 'mine' you mean you built it...(?) Do you have the schematics?"

I may have missed your answer. If this is the case please accept my apologies.

If you haven't answered, I suggest you do. Regardless what the rules of this forum say, some may see your lack of answer to a direct question as being impolite.

As I said nothing personal. You joined the forum recently and I though a clarification can be useful.

Cool. I didn't mean to imply that I had made it. It's one of Lyle's first models. I was curious to know whether or not people were building similar boxes. Maybe I should have posted this thread on a different board. I'll go ahead and read the forum rules once more. I'm in the process of building my first project, I will share it with you guys as soon as I'm done. Thanks for being cool about things.

I was sure it was just a misunderstanding. Thanks for clarify.

People post comments about pedals they like all the time - it is cool. You probably just need be slightly clearer about why you post in the future.

I'm planning on building a Green Ringer or a Valvecaster as my first build. Do you think those would be easy fist builds? I would appreciate any help. Maybe you know of some simple kits with all the parts.

also TBC, if your camera is still working shots of the PCB (track and component sides) are also kind of 'expected' if you're gonna post external pics  .
others have posted a bunch more but the more the merrier right?

what exactly does it do? functionality of the different modes via the switches etc?

From the site
The first stage of the Triad is an extremely high quality preamp with gobs* of gain available (from unity to +30dB). The preamp is all analog, and has extremely low self-noise, with a subtle tightening of the low end and very slight compression added as the preamp level is increased.

At unity to low gain levels it's a very musical and subtle sound that enhances the natural sound of your guitar and amp, without changing the sound you worked so hard to get. More of what you like, nothing of what you don't.

At higher gain levels, it makes the amp work harder, and you get natural overdrive, compression, and sustain, without the essence of your tone changing (no fuzz, no buzz, no weird midrange shift, no lack of low end, no harsh treble, etc).
Second stage is a parallel/series fx loop.
Third stage is another clean boost

So basically.... it's a clean boost
In the quiet words of the virgin Mary: "Come again?"
