Any small- pedal size guitar Power amplifier layout? [schematic]

after more than a year of use the amp sounds great even without a pre amp - just with pedals. As a suggestion ...combined with the aion L5 pre amp it's a killer. Great job Manfred.

Thanks for the feedback nice to hear that this power amplifier works well.tedsorvino wrote:after more than a year of use the amp sounds great even without a pre amp - just with pedals. As a suggestion ...combined with the aion L5 pre amp it's a killer. Great job Manfred.

Manfred, or Ted, what was the function of the coil + R in the original schematic, and the reason for leaving it out?
Also, I wouldn't mind hearing a bit more about the power supply. One FWR plus something like 20k uf filtering for each side?

There are different boards available for the LM3886 power amplifier. The board used by Ted has no coil.Ben N wrote:Manfred, or Ted, what was the function of the coil + R in the original schematic, and the reason for leaving it out?

The coil is for the suppression of higher frequency oscillations,
for this purpose the 220pF capacitor between the positive and negative input is used on Ted's board.
In my circuit, see page 1 of this topic, a 150pF capacitor is connected in parallel to the feedback resistor of 22k for this purpose.
For the power supply see the order link from Ted in the articles above.
