Hey guys, i know im new here.
I was directed here from Harmony Central, im over there under the same user name.

So down to business, im currently looking for a Fuzz Factory. Ive seen some clones of them and i asked around over at HC if someone could build me one, and they all directed me to this site. So if you can build a Zvex Fuzz Factory Clone for a decent price, ide really appreciate it. Oh yeah, preferably in the US.

Welcome Garrett,

Glad you made it here, but this forum (or this part at least) is intended for people wanting to find sources components to build stompboxes themselves. We agreed that stuff (even pedals) could be put for sale in the 'Seen for Sale' folder. You could really really build your own with the information provided on this forum:

Zvex Fuzz Factory gut shots - schematic - pcb layout - vero layout - perfboard layout

But to use this forum to place order with builders, is I think a bad idea. The information on this website is always intended for educational purposes only. There is no doubt that what happens with the information off this forum is the responsability of the members, but on this forum it's not about copying effects to start selling them.

But here you can order a Fuzz Fake
Z Fuzz Fake small kit Artikelnummer: ZFuzz2

This pedal is a clone of a five-knob fuzz using 2 NOS rare germanium transistors. This circuit is no classic fuzz design, but has a great legandary sound. All five knobs basically shape you a personalized fuzz sound. (Vol, Comp, Gate, Drive and Stab)

You can order this pedal in 3 versions.
Version 1 - full kit with case and all parts: 85 Euro
Version 2 - completely finished pedal upon request: 115 Euro
Version 3 - soldered pcb with pots, switcher and knobs without case: 65 Euro
There real cheap way is DIY, the only real deal to buy a (used) zvex box off ebay.

But cheaper than the kit in assembled form is the vexter:

i think it would be okay if someone pm garrett if they were interested in making him one. I do agree we shouldn't actively promote sales of clones or directly sale pedals. But if someone wants to make a request, then it could be honered more privately through emails.

Probably not a good idea to have this place turn into a clone builder "for hire" request hub. This thread reminded me of something weird: I was actually hassled by somebody a while back to build them a "Machine" due to posting about my build report here.... they had a hard time taking no for answer.

just used the french schematic to build mine but i dont really fancy putting the ac128's in yet - the spec doesnt mention which way around to put them.
Any ideas?

I wanted to bump this topic as I'm a newbie to building pedals. I wanted to build the Z Vex, but I've already found a couple of schematics with different parts layouts. What are the differences?

I have this Zombi version.
Beavis audio.
Freestompboxes.org thread with a zip file.
The French version

Haha, I think you missed this in the Beavis Audio link - Enjoy! And happy April 1, 2006!
The differene here, is it's not a fuzz factory (I think he said it was a schematic fragment from a washing machine or something).

The French one... is full of pop ups and spam, I think people have had problems building from that PCB too.

Use this from Madbeans site, it's probably the most comprehensive document you'll need - http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/Z ... _ver.5.pdf it's all verified and the PCB layout is probably the closest to the original.

Hahah, as I was getting the part list together I figured it out. Thanks for verifying the Madbeans one for me. That's the one I ended up buying parts for. Quick question- is the R5 value (5k1) mean 5.1k?

Yes, 5k1 = 5.1k, and the same is used for capacitors, e.g. 4n7 = 4.7 nanofarads, 2u2 = 2.2 microfarads
