so Aion posted two pictures of an "original design" cornish pedal, one a gooped gutshot and the madlad actually apparently x-rayed the PCB lol. Not anymore info though.
I wonder what it actually is. I can see one or two opamps and two transistors, as well as a trimpot.

I'll let you guys speculate for awhile... but tracing is complete on my end and a PCB (including schematic and more photos of the trace) will be released in about 2 months, so you won't have to wait long
It's very much an original circuit though. I was surprised since most of his are either value-tweaked clones or hybrids.

How do you infer component values from an xray or gooped board? I assume you degooped it, or maybe took it apart and measured it?

The X-ray was a first pass at mapping out the circuit topology to see if it was even worth the effort to degoop. If it turned out to be a clone of something already known, or close (Cornish described it as original - but you know how that can go) then we might not have gone through the trouble to tear it apart further. But, it was indeed original so we persevered!

As it is a "new and original design".... I google searched the Cornish site and found these models that claim to be original:
BD-1
CC-1
OC-1
3Q-1
hmmmm.... which could this be then? oh... the suspense.

From the website:
BD-1 - Bass Driver
CC-1 - Crunch Pedal
OC-1 - Optical Compressor
3Q-1 - Active EQ with Linear Boost
What sounds most likely? The x-ray doesn't look like an optical compressor tbh, I don't see an optocoupler.

Yeah what is that? Or is that
inside the IC?

It's not the pcb, it's the insides of the IC.

Not yet, but soon. I'm doing up a PCB for it and will pull back the curtain on everything at once :)

Still on track, probably early October the way things are looking.

I don't mean to tease, the layout's just extremely tight and it's been kicking me in the pants the past month or so. I finally was able to hunker down and finish it though. An appetizer...
Now shooting for the end of November for this, assuming prototyping goes well.

...And yes, there is an opto-isolator
It was installed vertically on the PCB so it didn’t show up very clearly in the X-ray.
That probably narrows it down a bit!
