The other day I was surfing eBay and found an old Amdek Distortion from a Japanese vendor and thought I’d buy it out of curiosity because I remember hearing that they were sold in kit form made by Boss with the boards already populated. The buyer would just have to assemble the housing and do basic offboard wiring. The aesthetics suggest that it is a part for part Boss DS1 circuit but looking at the schematic raised a brow. Much to my surprise the circuit in the AMDEK unit has more in common with the Boss SD-1 with a couple differences. Tone stack appears to be quite different and the second half of the 4558 seems to serve as part of the output buffer. Hope this is of any help to anyone. If any of my findings are incorrect feel free to let me know.

Not sure why the DSK-1 schematic posted twice. Meant to put the SD-1 Schem. Anywho here is it for comparison.

Was able to determine the tonestack is that of a DS-1. So perhaps this is a DS-1/SD-1 hybrid. Very interesting

I wonder if they never sold these in the States. I bought mine from a Japanese vendor on eBay and as far as I can tell these magazines sold mostly in England and parts of Europe.
