Hi i'm needing some help with this.
I bought an MZ-2 on reverb with the mode knob not working properly.
The MZ-2 is an analog pcb which is the drive circuit sandwiched to a digital pcb which is the chorus/doubler circuit.
The issue being the Mode knob stays in drive mode no matter where i set it. I poked every solder joint with a chopstick and could barely get a whisper of the chorus/doubler signal. I even flowed some solder to the obvious connections to the mode knob and checked the connection between the digital pcb and the outputs. Can't find a loose or cold solder joint anywhere.
I was once able to fix an RV3 with a non functioning mode knob by flowing some solder where the mode knob connected to the board so I had hope.. but this issue is different in behavior.
Really hoping to get this working.

Here are the MZ-2 service notes if anyone can help.

Thanks

Hi did you get it fixed? I also have a Boss Digital metalizer. The Chorus and Delay have started sounding glitchy and crazy. You can no longer hear a proper signal when you have it on chorus or delay mode. When you have it only on distortion mode, it does some weird gate thing. Like of you strum loud enough you can hear distorted guitar, but if you don't, you don't hear anything. I think I'll have to bring mine to a repair guy as I'm very inexperienced when it comes to electronics. Sorry I couldn't help, I'm in a similar boat.
