Hey all,
Trying to repair the faulty rotary encoder pot on my Boss DD20. The sweep in either direction is glitching the delay time like hell. Had a similar problem with an older WH-4 Whammy, but sourcing that replacement pot was a breeze. I've found the part number, but nothing else. Contacted Boss/Roland and they're giving me the run around. If anyone has a line on this rotary encoder I'd greatly appreciate it,
Part# 03231912 ROTARY ENCODER W/SW R-ENCODER EVQB1SZ1720B
I understand the 'EVQ' is a Panasonic designation, but beyond that I'm stumped.
Boss DD-20 Rotary Encoder?

For what it's worth after more than a month.
I am rather sure that any Wurth encoder will do the job.

Thanks for pointing that one out! I ended up desoldering the original pot and went over it throughly with contact cleaner, resoldered, and sure enough it's been working well since (didn't think it would to be honest). I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it goes again so I'll keep this one in mind.
Here in Canada the big chain that deals with Roland is Long & McQuade, and I was informed that if I wanted a new pot I'd have to send in the pedal and let them do it (with the usual exorbitant bench fee I'm sure). No thanks.
