EHX - Nano Chorus

Got one of these cheap at Guitar Center, didn't try it out first which was a mistake. It is very noisy when turned on. Lots of white noise. The chorus sound is pretty good, but the noise kind of ruins it for me. At first I thought it was broken, but tech support at EH said that the noise floor is higher in this pedal than their other ones.
Anybody have a schematic for it? Or advice on how to quiet it down?
TIA

Obligatory gut shots:

Hi,
I have one of these and it's a nice sounding unit allthough not as enchanting as the Small Clone but the Nano dropped the level when engaged.
I replaced a resistor sitting at the mixer amplifier to raise output to unity.
It should be pretty easy to find, close to the footswitch I seem to remember but anyway simple to find and that makes the unit a whole lot more useful.
Have fun

Anyone ever figure this one out? I have this pedal and the noise is huge, but if I can dial it down i would love this pedal.

Hi folks,
I just bought a defective Nano Clone. I was for less than 12 euros, so I figured that even if I could not make it work, the parts would make up to the price paid.
Long story short, I took my time to trace the schematic. I have no way or desire to measure capacitors in-circuit (even less SMD capacitors). And there WILL be mistakes in my tracing. I think that this may be of some use to someone, though.
I fixed it (the problem was with the LFO - R15, I just resoldered it) and I would mod it (adding Depth and Blend controls as in attached schematic). But it is SMD based, it has positive ground (WTF, EHX?) and I already had everything for another chorus to be made from scratch, so I think I'll just resell it.
Back to topic:
1. for the volume drop decrease R25 or even better make a Blend control as in the attached mods
2. for the noise decrease first the chorused signal level (TRIM2) to your taste and see if it is still too much. I would check if taking out TRIM2 makes a difference. Also, mess with C12, C19-R28 and C21 to let less highs through.
I made a test with an LM358 based LFO using the same circuit as in the Nano Clone and an 100k pot as Depth control. It did sound better to my ears.

thanks for all of your hard work, not an easy job at all. I hope I don't sound unnappreciative, but would you posting a notice on your schematic that it is unverified and may contain errors? this kind of thing can foul up further tracing when bad schematics get passed around the net. great second post, and thanks again for sharing!

Sorry, I thought that since this is not a very loved pedal, nobody would use my tracing other than for troubleshooting. So I placed a warning in my post only.
I attached new schematics with warning included. Please delete the ones from the first post.
Best regards!

Nevermind, I just discovered I can delete attachments. Maybe, unknown to me, there is also a way to edit old posts

Bought one of these yesterday thinking "how bad could it be?" at around $60 i just took it home and tried it... I shouldn't have! I'm returning it today!
Too much hiss

it's embarrasing for EHX that they wil actually produce such a crappy unit! I liked the chorus below the hiss though - i'm gonna try the neo clone today, though it's $20 more

Whether the attached schematic is right, EH should have built 2 LP filters with those 2 PNPs (just like in small clone) to get a lower noise...
if you lift R12 and R23 you may add an RC cell to tame noise down.
R12/C10 maybe provide a small regeneration (like in flanger)?
I wonder what it sounds like without...

Just noticed:
The 470uF electro is named Stone...

Hi,
just found this topic and i am very interested in trying to fix the level and hiss problem, since i like to fix stuff.
I'm just a hobbyst with a very limited knowledge but very patient and haven't tried SMD soldering jet but i will give it a go since i got this pedal.

BJ, do you remeber which resistor was it excatly??
Did you mean R36 that is phisicaly close to the footswitch or you meant on the schematic?
thx!!
