Just wondering if anyone has gotten their hands on one of one of these. Apparently the Rev. Billy F. Gibbons is quite fond of em. Hopefully it sounds as sweet as it looks. http://www.roadrunner-guitars.com/
I wonder if I am the only neophyte on here who thinks this would make a great
tutorial on how to trace the circuit and come up with the schematic and PCB overlay etc...?
I have been curious as to how some of the people on here can do it so fast.
Any tips or secrets?

is that your way of getting us to do it for you?
Just jump in there and do it! That's the only way to learn how to do it. I take the top and bottom photos and invert one and overlay them...print them out on a piece of paper. Take a highlighter and ID the B+ trace and the ground, start from the input to the output...
Yeah, I was kind of hoping someone would do it, but I am always willing to learn.
I don't have a shot of the backside of the board. I'll give it a shot if nobody laughs and I can
get the necessary photos. May as well jump in with both boots on.
Unfortunately I don't own the pedal. I got the pictures off the web. If I had a pic of the bottom and a better shot of the top so I could determine values I'd definitely give it a go. Can anyone tell if it appears to be an original circuit or a modification of an existing one?
Hi, I took those pictures.
I bought this pedal because it was marketed as a Tone Bender fuzz. Imagine my surprise when I opened up this big box and saw ICs.
Sonically I'd say that it sounds like a cross between a tone bender & big muff. I sold it because of the mid boost it had.
I did not even remember having own this pedal. I don't miss it at all. Fortunately, I didn't lose money on it.

Hi warioblast welcome to the forum. Do you have any more pictures you could post?

I'm sorry I don't.
Thx for the welcoming. I recognize many forumites from harmony central & diystompboxes forums.
I was kind of away from my soldering iron but I feel it's going to change very soon. This place is a goldmine.

We need a shot of the bottom of the PCB to commence with a trace. Also, closer shots of the top side would help, so we can see the IC numbers and all that.
The 2 big IC's are 4011 and 4053. They have nothig to do with the fuzz circuit.
Just used for the switch and the LED aka electronic True bypass.(Still cheaper than a 3pdt.)

SO, the fuzz must be the two transistors on the right..2 transistor=fuzz face
Yep, a 2 transistor silicon fuzzface.
For the rest of the circuit, really need to look at solderside to see what exactly the rest of the components are doing.

Still love the enclosure. Must weight a ton.

there are two more transistors on the left...
the pedal sounds nothing like a fuzzface !!
it's as heavy as a wah.
