I created this project while messing around with the ES56033 chip that I used in my Stalker Double Tracker project. I figured out a way to get some modulation, but the chip seems to have an internal compensation circuit, which means you can't control delay time the same way you can on PT2399. However, it still results in a fun little project with some weirdness to it. Hey man I was wondering, is there a way to make the LFO more even in terms of wave shape? To make the chorus modulation smoother instead of having a major dip like a vinyl emulation pedal

i dunno if that would be possible, like he said, this was an "accidental" vibrato. i think its the attack that ends up making the modulation happen on the one i built. it's cool for what it is, but i dunno how much more you could get out of it.

The question is does the ES56028 chip offer a better chorus sound than the typical PT2399 chorus and how easy it is to mix and match LFOs to suit my needs?

the straight answer is no. pt2399's suck for chorus too tho....

Honestly I thought the Sea Machine by EQD sounds awesome and since I didnt have luck creating something with BBD I thought about using chips like the ones stated above

How hard would it be to turn this into a duo chorus like the Dimension P?

Hi folks,

Perhaps another kind of oscillator can be used to implement an stereo chorus: Quadrature Oscillator:

The values to have low freq has to be much higher than this diagram (68K and 2.2uF aprox)
R2 and R3 must be modified by a dual ganged potentiometer to vary the running freq..
R1 must be slightly lower in value to assure enough gain to maintain the oscillation.
As a side note, this circuit start to oscillate slowly resembling as if were implemented with vacuum tubes 8)
Wit a couple of op amps we can obtain two (almost) perfect sinewaves always shifted 90º

Has some similarities as they have two outputs, but instead to be exactly in opposite phase this design have a constant lag of 90 degrees.

Perhaps can be an improvement or can be annoying to play with a chorus constantly running from one amplifier to another.

Experimentation is needed... :roll:
