Hm yeah good eye, I think it's because when i reworked the gain control I didn't update the copper view. Just that though.

Interesting. The 2n2 has to make it darker. C15 is intended just as dc blocking and lets all frequencies pass, but reducing it makes a permanent high pass which should reduce some flub without ruining output impedance.
