Hi!

I had the occasion of making photos of both versions of the Wee Beaver Fuzz.
So here are the photos and a schematic.
Of what I can tell, the only difference between the big and small version is an additional capacitor in the small version.

It's a brilliant fuzz based on a silicon Fuzz Face and a Big Muff tone stack as you can probably see.
The circuit was apparently an inspiration for the Chase Bliss - Ayahuasca. One cool mod would be to make the gain variable.

Don't hesitate to tell me if you find an error.

Edit: Changed C4 placement

Sorry, I don't have them with me anymore so I can't mesure.
However, in the small version, the board occupies the whole 1590A surface.
In the big version, the board is very small as you can see. You can probably guess with the pots dimensions.

Thanks, I will find out.

In the schematic above, can Q2 bias correctly with its base connected directly to Q1 collector?

Yeah you're right, C4 was in the wrong place, I updated the schematic. Thanks for the heads up!

I dont see any part of this that's based on a Fuzz Face, imo. Im sure its a cool circuit, just an odd reference.

I saw the Fuzz Face mentionned multiple times about that pedal, that's why I said that.
But yeah, it's an adaptation of another circuit loosely based on the FF. So just transistor stages tbh.

never seen that bias arrangement before: the first 2 transistors alone do a nicely nasty fuzz with very few parts - like an even more obscene fuzzrite
