Here's an article from the Dutch magazine Elektuur, which is the precursor of Elektor, in which they propose a new electric guitar, the ALL-GITAR. In fact, it's just a active effects circuit built into the guitar: fuzz, frequency doubler, tremolo?
The same issue also contains a nice little EL84 pushpull amp for people who like old stuff. The article from 1967 starts out: "In this era of the transistor, a lot of the older hobbyists will still have a stash of vacuum tubes lying around..."

Oh my gosh. I found this first schematic in a spanish book in early seventies. I built in those years the preamp and the frecuency doubler (similar to the Green Ringer) and the last part (Slow Gear-esque envelope follower). Funny but maybe not very musical... I can´t recall. I was very young then (or maybe I am very old now XD)
