Dunno what I need to do to pass this oldie but goodie on to someone who will put it to good use.

I live in Burlington, NC. Yes it works and it is Rack mounted. It is all tube, and pretty big, and has a nice bright trace and built-in delay line so you can see what triggered the trace.

I designed lots of FX with it decades ago, although I just don't do much of that nowdays, I loved getting it for $125 back in the day.

Certainly somebody wants this baby. Makes troubleshooting FX and amps EASY as pie.

call me if you have interest or questions.

Hi Bart

I'm live in Argentina so I think that the freight charge will be impossible to afford for me... :D

But I would like to ask you if you can post some photos of this instrument here in the forum to know what you are offering.

Cheers,
Jose

Hi Johan,
The freight charge to Argentina, ... plus what long distance careless shipping might do to the scope, makes it a non-starter for us.

I HAVE thought about posting pictures and all to raise more interest, but sh*t, it's FREE. How much trouble is reasonable to expect of me when I'm GIVING IT AWAY for friggin' FREE ?

If you were in a position to pick it up, sure, I'd be glad to go to the trouble to take a few pics and try to get Windows 10 to download pics from my iphone (which seems to be screwy recently, who knows why) so I could post them, or text them to somebody.

I put my phone number in so people could call, ask questions, and I could respond to someone that was actually INTERESTED in getting it with more detail. I think Google could show a pic of the RM15 if anyone cared to look. This one was used at Western Electric back when they were making missles. Who knows what we all paid for it new.

Sure seems to me like "paying it forward" ought to be less hassle.

NOT annoyed with you, guy, just the indifference here to what has been to me an essential tool in my learning, developing and improving circuits, troubleshooting and repair of amps and FX. I was incredibly grateful when I got it. I could see what was going on in analog delay lines, clipping stages, compression circuitry with various adjustments and refinements to the sidechain control circuitry, and WAY more.

Johan, you are the only person (to date, anyway) who actually read and put in the effort to reply to an offer for a FREE oscilliscope. I just don't get it. I've never seen one for less that $100 at Hamfests or surplus electronics merchants. Maybe I should have offered to sell it for $150.

I guess too many people around here are just into copying other people's designs.

Yes, in FX, it IS ultimately about how a circuit SOUNDS - so you can get a lot of useful information by just listening at various test points in a circuit, but to imagine that SEEING what's going on in a circuit on a 'scope isn't INCREDIBLY USEFUL in successfully tweaking, understanding, designing, and troubleshooting circuits, seems incomprehensible to someone who spent decades doing just that.

It may have to go to Craigslist. They SELL them on there....

Baja man,
Thanks for reply - it would make my day too!

Funny the replies are international - and you live in New Zealand and found someone to give yours to!

How did you find an interested person?

There ought to be someone in the. nearby states that wants it. I’ll let sit and wait on here again. Where was I when I needed a ‘scope? LOL

He expressed an interest in building studio equipment and I asked if he had a scope - when he said he didn't I dug out my old scope that I have not used in 20 years - glad i didn't just throw it away now ;-)

Hi Modman,

You may add a picture of this instrument to help found a person interested in this model (named RM15)

By the way, this scope draws 300 watts from a wall outlet when is running, so I think that can contribute to heat a workbench area :D
