Hello folks,

I just modded my Boss MT-2 Metalzone to the "Diezel Mod" specs, but I keep seeing 2 different values for C42 cap posted in various posts online.

The posted values are either:

C42 - 0.1uf

or

C42 - 1uf

Which one is correct? I currently have .1uf in the pedal. If I change it to 1uf, how will it change the sound?

Thanks!

C42 - 0.1uf

or

C42 - 1uf

You can leave it stock or use 100n or 1u or any other higher value than stock. But i won't recommend doing so.

Increaing it's value won't make any audible difference. C42 is just a dc blocking cap, together with r58 jfet impedance it creates a high pass filter, which filters extra low frequencies way below audible level.
Even in stock it passes freqs above ~3Hz. Increasing the cap value will decrease it to ~1Hz, but there's no need for such a low threshold.

Sometimes these "mods" make no sence at all.

Thanks! One other quick question - I also see two different values for c36 - .1uf or 1uf. I currently have .1uf in c36. Will putting in a 1uf have a drastic effect on the eq? If so, what will it change?

Thanks so much for your reply!
