Hi folks, long time lurker, first time poster here. I've got a Guyatone VT-2 on my bench here which is working fine (and is a lovely little pedal - all through hole with space for a battery - wild!) I've taken in as it's causing a bit of a noticeable volume drop when it's engaged. I've found a schematic in another post.

Having played a little with the trimmer, there's still a bit of a drop, (not as bad perhaps I haven't dialled it in quite yet), I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what could be swapped out in order to bring the level up a little more. Push comes to shove I'm going to build a new trem circuit inside the enclosure as the size is what matters more to the owner however, it's quite a nice Fender type trem for the most part. Let me know if you need/want pics of the board.

Cheers.

Hi Angus,

Try to reduce the value of resistor R15 (100K) connected at pin 6 of U2B according the schematic you mentioned.
As far as this resistance goes down the gain of this stage goes up.

Cheers,
Jose

Thanks Jose, I'll look into that. I had a bit more of a play about with the trimmer this afternoon and fine-tuned it by adjusting it from say 11 o'clock to 9 o'clock which I think has made a difference but there still seems like there is a little bit of a drop.

What I've noticed additionally is when the switch is engaged there's quite a jolt in the signal, not a pop but a jolt if that makes sense. Would making it true bypass help with that? The buffer seems fine for the most part just a bit of a noise when the pedal is engaged. The buffer wouldn't cause the drop would it?
