Have a bunch of old mullard branded oc200, oc202, and oc206 transistors but they don’t sound great with a stock fuzz face circuit. I tried reducing the 100k resistor which helped some but introduced a high squeal when the volumes cranked. I tried a resistor jumper from collector from q1 to its base but wasn’t a fan of the sound. Any other suggestions? I’m using 6.8k to bias the collector of q2. Much thanks!

Hi Fuzz1997 and welcome to this forum !

The datasheets of transistors you have reveals unusual low gain values (OC200= 15; OC202= 40 and OC206= 16 times)
Perhaps someone here has experience to implement fuzz circuits with similar low gain silicon PNP's

Cheers,
Jose

Hi Jose! The gain of the transistors I used are q1=51 ; q2 = 81. Would love to hear what people have tried!

These might be projects for these Germaniums.
