FXCore Module - Compact Dev Board [documentation]

So Experimental Noize came out with a DSP tailored for pedals.
However the FXCore is not as easy to incorporate in a circuit as the FV1 is.
That's why I made this very compact devboard (only 30 by 43mm). Also, it's breadboard compatible for easy prototyping.
It takes care of the audio conversion and helps to simplify the program selection.
There's a small microcontroller that converts an analog input into a 4bit selection code for the DSP.
This way any pot or switch can be used to select a program.
I had some problems with soucing the right power module. So I made two versions, the first with a simple linear regulator that can take up to 5V and the next version will accept up to 36V.
The next step will be to make a PCB to develop on a pedal format, I'm thinking of a 1590BB size at the moment.
Another related project I'm working on is an open source I2C programmer for the FXCore. In my opinion it would be better than buying it from a distributor as the stocks are pretty scarce.

Nope, no graphical programming yet but a guy is working on it :

Super cool! I've been wanting to get into DSP effects for a bit, but I'm still mining the depths of PT2399's, ES560xx, and microcontrollers at the moment...

Nice project, I was going to do something along the same lines but have put it off due to the shortage of Codec chips. Love the idea.

Thanks! Yeah convertors are getting pretty scarce nowadays. Hope it'll get better once AKM gets back on its feet.

Yes agreed, I am waiting on AKM getting back into production. I did manage to get hold of 15 x AK4619 4 in/4 out pre production codecs a while back but if you only need 2 in/2out then I think Coolaudio have stock of the V4220 codecs which are clones of the Cirrus Logig CS4220.

You could always put a 5v and 3.3v reg on the module so that you can supply 9v to the board, this would mean different versions of your module always run from a 9v supply.
