I don´t know why, but I am not sure if there could be something wrong with this pedal - I have to compare it:
https://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1976-MXR-D ... dZViewItem
What is interesting, is that the chip appears to be sanded - never seen this before.
The resistors appear more modern than typical script resistors - ok, it is from 76, but......
Then there is no black screen printing on the pcb.
And no holes to connect the wires.....
I don´t know, but alltogether the alarm bell is ringing....

Maybe somebody knows more ?

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

Hi,

I can't tell if the chip is sanded, but could also be just a replacement chip-it was popular once to replace the stock 741 with a TL 071.
Ok so this would be from what -76 and the foam would have been disolved and the pcb would be shorted without some kind of isolation. Woohoo!

I'd agree something is fishy like there are no holes for the wires.......oh yes wires would break right there and soldering flat on to the pad would cure that........ :hmmm:

Have fun

Some had screen printing, some did not. Typically the earlier ones are the ones without the printing.

Hi,

Cool, I don't think I have ever seen an MXR pedal with black screenprinting like this.

Hm, right no holes, memory either fails me or that was on another model or edition. :slap:

Ah, it seemed such a good idea to isolate to pcb in foam and now foam has crumbled.

Thanks

Have fun
BJ
