same problem i had couple of weeks ago... wasnt able to find them either.. i just settled for MN3007...

Hey thanks guys

I'm working on a rotary speaker stompbox idea, based on the circuit used in the OLD Korg CX3 organ - it uses two of these devices.
my plan is to build a clone of it first (I have the schematic), then redesign the delay sections with readily available digital chips (PT2399). If it is successful, I will probably include the use of the very smooooooth ( shameless plug

) pure sine wave oscillator I developed for the Baja Trembulator as well

.
I will post on the forum here, once the project is completed - but do not hold your breath - it may be some time yet, but hopefully before Xmas

Wouldn't it be a much better idea to push towards 07 bbd's to make the design rebuildable? As I understand from this request even the "i pay you big NZ$$s won't be possible, let alone a "hey baja, thanks for the DIY project!"

No worries folks - I KNOW I can achieve very good results with the PT2399 digital chip

I just wanted to try the MN3004 devices to give me a point of reference TONE wise

MN3004 = 512 stages for 2.5ms - 25ms delay
MN3007 = 1024 stages for 5ms - 50ms delay
Both = 85dB s/n ratio @ 0.4% thd

PT2399 = digital chip up to 400ms delay @0.4% thd
BUT at very low delay (30ms region) 0.13% thd

and over 22Mhz clock frequency AND 90dB s/n ratio

AND - easily obtainable and cheap

yeah, PT2399 is a nice chip.. but do you also got the 'low-fi' hiss specially when set at largest delay time? i used the PT2399 in a delay pedal and im wondering ifs possible to eliminate that 'hiss' on the sound trail at max delay time.

Hi Invictus - NO - not easy at long delay times, but you could use two in series with a dual ganged pot controlling the delay of each (or an optocoupler design

)

Perhaps you can solve the problem with a TDA1022. Costs 3,50€ and has 512 stages
