Look at this IC (it may be all to old news

http://www.elfa.se/pdf/73/736/07363237.pdf

It is dead simple to hook up and the quality may be at least almost decent for guitar. It even contain some OP amps etc. Current consumption is low enough for battery-operation. There is so little need for components outside the chip so that you can fit everything in a small mxr-box.
It looks like preset intervals can be changed fast-.

My idea was to hook up 2 (or more) in parallel and mix with the original note so you get triads-chords or 1 octave up and something more .

You could for instance have one or more momentary foot switches so you could quick-change between major and minor chords etc from a single note or some other preset intervals.

I have no idea if it would be usefull or sound fun and will probably get bored of it in 5 minues but it could be fun playing around with or ? :D

Perhaps there will beto much delay between input and output?

They are available loacally here (sweden) but the price is expensive when buying 1 (something like 13 EUR + tax) . However the cost drops to about half when buying 30 or more. Still looking for a better and lower price source though.

Regarding the poor sound quality you have to think about that some people probably tried it for studio-gear and then it will not be very usefull. However, the lo-fi quality is not necessary a bad thing in the context of guitar I think.
Compare with BBD or Zvex Lo-Fi Loop Junky stuff which is probably even worse.
