Any info on this pedal? Supposedly a great OD/Distortion geared for single coils. Thanks!

Could you please give us direct link to the schematic! A lot of us do not understand German!JHS wrote:A schem of the DB can be found here: http://forum.musikding.de

The schematic is on this page but you can't expand the image. Check it out.........

And it doesn't convert to a PDF very well.Tonebender wrote:The schematic is on this page but you can't expand the image. Check it out.........

I had a db-1 some years ago,
I liked it very much with the strat, especially on the lower gain settings,
I replaced the 1M lin. drive pot with a 500K log. pot for that same reason.
it is a very "unique" drive...
before the clipping diodes the there is a low- and a high-pass filter both at 1064Hz which makes for a massive mid bump
and after the clipping is done, on the mids, the highs and lows get back trough the tone control section.
this makes an excellent strong and thick but also very clear SRV sound with the strat!!!
peace, love and bananas

I would assume that SPeters guts are from a clone and not from an original unit.

Nice work so far...fellas...
Comparing the schematics from layouts would be helpful, if anyone is into it...
Anyone who is willing to draw schematics, even by hand would be cool...later I could redraw everything and compile it in pdf.
I just redraw the layout for the ver.2 now comparison should be easier.
Chugs, if you would be so kind and use this layout image and mark(draw on it) all the components and wiring so we could assemble the project nicely...thanks in advance...

Layout DB-2:
I have built something like this. I figured a DB-1 is a souped up Boss DS-1 and the DB-2 is a souped up OD-1. for my pedal I used the basic layout of the DB-2 on that Japanese site, I did a looooooooot of looking at it to come up with something similar. I used the basic schematic structure of the DS-1 though. Double the number of diodes, increase the drive pot size, add the tone section from the German schematic, and you have the pedal, or something quite similar. I used the output transistors in the DS-1 as well, as a result the thing has soooo much boost, in fact unity is at about 1/3 the way up.
