Antelope Effects - Morning Dew EQ

I saw that user jfromel posted the gut shot below over at The Gear Page. Sure would be nice to get a few more pics of this.
Apparently it's some kind of knock-off of an Ibanez EQ from yester-year???
I see from the photo that Francisco Peña is the PCB artist. Interesting.

Hi,
maybe this is a design from yester year, but a high quality build - not that common under all these bouteekers out there as far as I know.
Regards

Damn culturejam you beat me to the punch! I was looking at this pic yesterday and planning on posting here about it, i see he has started limited production again of 50 at a time, there was a while that i really wanted one but they were unavailable ans all the people who had one liked em too much to sell em, ive always wondered about it. itd be great to get a pic of the otherside and trace this one, i really want to hear one.

Definitely. I wasn't using the term "yester-year" as any sort of slight. Just commenting that the circuit was borrowed from a previous pedal.
That thing looks very well made.

Why not just email Francisco Peña aka TonePad and ask him what it is. His name is on the PCB, lower left hand corner.

True he designed the PCB for antelope, but i cant see him giving away that schematic without consent from Brian at antelope even if it is a clone that schematic would be for his version, not the original.

Because he doesn't like me.

No, it's for real.
If DIYstomboxes didn't delete threads that were unfavorable to "industry icons", you'd know what I was talking about.
But I'm so glad you asked.
Here is the text of what I posted on DIYstomp (about 6 months ago):
http://www.forrestwhitesides.com/node/65
I posted a very easy way to edit and manipulate password-protected PDFs, and the backlash was insane. I got a some nasty messages in that thread ( some of which were in languages I could not read). You would've thought I'd prosed a new method of abortion via corkscrew. Fransisco went nuts and threatened to remove all of his layouts and schems and force everyone to just pay for PCBS instead of allowing people to make their own. I honestly couldn't believe all the backlash. It seemed crazy to me, but then I don't put much stock in intellectual property. And of course, all the PDFs are still there on Tonepad...because the info I posted was deleted from DIstompboxes.
My opinion is that if you pick an insecure format for storing data and then give it away for free to anyone, you shouldn't be angry when somebody figures it out. But hey, maybe I'm just ungrateful.

The PQ9 is a parametric EQ and uses a stereo pot for the frequency cotrol. This thing looks like a bass-mid-treble tone control.

I was just posting what i found, it could very well be something different, or it could be loosely based on it , unless j frommel chimes in on where he got his info, who knows.

I don't have the schem from the MDEQ but what Brian from Antelope has said it is based on the PQ-9.

i was given a pq9 from my old guitarplayer and its ok, but It would make more sense to have either 3 controlable sweeps and not a static frequency for high and low eq or control over the "Q"/width of frequencies would be nice. I just remember thinking that it was ok but need more control.

That would be the Empress ParaEQ

Saw one on ebay with these photos - snatched them once i noticed there wasn't more info around. You can take a guess if the main selling point is/was "3 Burr Brown op-amps".

The PEQ401, followed by the PQ9 were pedals with fixed high and low EQ bands and a semi-parametric mid with frequency and gain but fixed Q.
The Fromel Shape is a fairly close copy with some updates (mid band can be peaking or shelving, true bypass or buffered bypass).
The MDEQ is supposed to be the PQ9 with the frequency and the q fixed but the gain variable. Not sure why he chose that method, but it's a great sounding and well built EQ.
